Hi my name is Jared Woodroofe. I grew up in a small town called Whakatane, based in the Bay of Plenty. I attended university in Auckland and completed my degree with a Bachelor of Sports – majoring in Physical Education.

I have been overseas for the past two years teaching English and PE to Thailand and Chinese students. I have recently returned to New Zealand and am now based in Wellington. I am very passionate about sports and you can find me playing or watching sports in my spare time.

I am very excited to be the National Sports Coordinator. I look forward to meeting everyone involved in this great organisation. I am eager to work with everybody involved with Deaf Sports, both on the board, and with the members. I want to help grow the organisation and see increased participation throughout New Zealand for all ages.
